The Kanwar Surjit Singh Institute for Spatial Planning and Environment Research, India (KSS-ISPER), previously known as Institute for Spatial Planning and Environment Research, India (ISPER) headquartered at Panchkula, Haryana is a society registered under the provisions of the Societies Registration Act, 1860 in the year of 2000 and re-registered in 2014 under the Haryana Registration and Regulation of Societies Act, 2012. It is also registered under the provisions of Section 12 A (a) of Income Tax Act of India and has the exemption granted by the Income Tax Department under section 80–G since March 2006.
This Institute of Excellence is a non-profit making, non- political body primarily established to assist the Government in framing the policies/plans and execution and implementation of various developmental programs.

Capacity Building in Urban Missions of Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India.

KSS-ISPER, being a not-for-profit organization pursues its objectives as laid down in its Memorandum of Association and the Rules. Under its charitable cause, the activities are ranged from local initiatives to the global issues concerning research, sharing of common platform for dissemination of information by holding seminars, webinars, conferences & trainings, publications, environment awareness campaigns, watershed development, and charitable pursuits of women empowerment through skill development programs for the poor section of the society.
